Third Annual LC Summer Camp!

Los Cenzontles is proud to offer its third annual Summer Intensive Cultural Arts Program! This year, due to popular demand, we are offering two summer camp sessions – a two-week session from June 17-June 28 and a three-week session from July 8 to July 26. Each session will be differentiated enough so that children can enroll in both and still have a fun, unique experience.

The schedule will be: Weekdays, 9am – 12:30pm

Students, ages 5-15, will learn Mexican inspired instrumental, vocal, dance and arts and crafts skills, in a fun, group environment and under the instruction of master artists. The program is intended to take children’s artistic talents to a new level, helping them develop technical ability, confidence, creativity and ensemble performance skills.  At the end of each session, students will present their art projects and participate in a performance, which will be free and open to the public.

At this time we do not offer sponsorships, but we are still making every effort to keep fees affordable.
$300 (2 weeks session) per child
$450 (3weeks session) per child

*Additional sibling discount may be available base on financial need.

Space is extremely limited.

Eugene Rodriguez receives United States Artists Fellowship

Los Cenzontles is pleased to announce that our Director, Eugene Rodriguez has been awarded a prestigious United States Artists Fellowship! Eugene won the USA Oliver Fellowship for his pioneering role in the revival of Mexican roots music through his flagship program, Los Cenzontles Mexican Arts Center and for his prolific personal music career.

The awards ceremony took place on December 2nd, 2012 at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, California. Introduced by friend and mentor, Linda Ronstadt and brother, Phillip Rodriguez, Eugene performed his song, Valor Latino, alongside his son, Emiliano and David Hidalgo of Los Lobos. It was truly a special event that marked this extraordinary achievement.

From all of us here at Los Cenzontles, we couldn’t be more proud of Eugene!
